Aquamarine is light blue, blue-green and dark blue. The highest quality is transparent. It has a hardness of 7.5.

Clean your Aquamarine in with warm, soapy water and a soft bristle brush. Do not clean in a home ultrasonic machine. As with all gemstones, care should be taken to protect it from scratches and sharp blows.

Aquamarine often becomes paler if left out in the sun.

Aquamarine is usually heat treated and sometimes irradiated.
